USC Mork Alumni Dinner May 8th

A reception and dinner honoring two leading figures in the energy industry will be held Thursday, May 8th by the Mork Family Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at USC for alumni of the program and their guests.

The event, at University Club Restaurant, will honor His Excellency Dr. Sultan Al-Jaber, CEO of Masdar and Minister of State of the United Arab Emirates, and David Kilpatrick, President of Kilpatrick Energy Group.

Masdar is a subsidiary of the Mubadala Development Company, owned by the government of Abu Dhabi. It focuses on developing clean energy sources.

In addition to serving as President of Kilpatrick Energy Group, which invests in oil and gas ventures, Mr. Kilpatrick is a Board member of Cheniere Energy Inc., Breitburn Energy Partners, PYR Energy Corporation and Whittier Energy Corporation. Formerly he was President of Monterey Resources Inc. until its merger with Texaco in 1998.

Dennis R. Luna, Editor In Chief of the California Oil and Gas Report and Managing Partner of the law firm of Luna & Glushon, is a member of the committee organizing the dinner.
