Dennis R. Luna, J.D., P.E. – Editor

Dennis is the managing partner of Luna & Glushon. With over 36 years of legal experience, he is considered one of the top energy and real estate attorneys in California.

In the area of oil and gas, he is one of the very few attorneys who holds a Masters in Petroleum Engineering; he thus brings a unique perspective to any energy matter. 

Dennis also has expertise in sophisticated real estate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and majority stock interest sales.  He has been a key advisor to large domestic and international clients with a focus on complex legal issues.

A graduate of Harvard Law School, Dennis is a licensed Professional Engineer and holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Southern California, School of Petroleum Engineering, and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. He also earned a Master of Business Administration from USC.

A native of Los Angeles, Dennis has served on many commissions in the City of Los Angeles. He served as Commissioner and Treasurer for both the Los Angeles Community Redevelopment Agency, the largest such agency in the United States, and the Community Redevelopment Financing Authority of the City of Los Angeles.  He also served as a Commissioner of the Los Angeles Recreation and Parks Department, and as an Alternate Commissioner on the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum Commission.

Olman J. Valverde has 17 years experience as a business attorney, including oil and gas law, general business transactions and legislative affairs.

He currently represents oil companies in connection with the purchase and sale of oil and gas leases, title examination related to oil and gas rights, project finance transactions related to exploration and development projects, and litigation related to mineral rights and production activities.

He also advises clients with respect to corporate governance and partnership law.

Olman is Co-Chair of the Legislative Committee, Los Angeles Association of Professional Landmen.

He received his B.A. from U.C. Santa Cruz, and his J.D. from Boston College Law School. He is fluent in Spanish.


Noemi Cruz, J.D.

Ms. Cruz has twenty-four years’ experience as a business litigation attorney. Ms. Cruz specializes in complex business litigation, including in the fields of oil and gas, products liability, real property and in public sector representation.

Noemi is a member of the Los Angeles Association of Professional Landmen. 

She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Friends of the Griffith Observatory, served three years as a Los Angeles County Bar Association delegate to the State Bar Convention and three years on the Board of Directors of the Mexican American Bar Association.

Ms. Cruz has a Bachelor of Arts Degree (English & Spanish) from the University of Texas at Pan American, and received her Juris Doctor from the University of California, Berkeley.
